At Grateley the art and design and technology curriculum seeks to combine an understanding of practical techniques with an emotional and imaginative response to the children's own work and that of others. Children are encouraged to take inspiration from famous artists and world cultures to produce their own responses to a given challenge. They learn to choose from a range of techniques and materials to achieve a given purpose. Children are taught to evaluate and improve their work; building resilience within both of these subjects.
