African Drum Performance
If you'd closed your eyes, you could have been in an African village!
What a fabulous finale to a term of learning to play the African drums. Parents heard an ensemble of different rhythms and beats from the African jungle and plains during the performance. Lead so expertly by Mrs Elmslie from Hampshire Music Service, the children all excelled themselves in their playing of the Djembes, Dunduns and the percussion instruments.
The children have worked so hard to work as a team, rotating in groups of 3 to enable each group to play each set of instruments during each lesson. The focus and concentration of everyone has improved and their sense of achievement was evident by their smiles during the parents' applause at the end of the performance. Well done children!
