Autumn 2
We are now into the second half of the autumn term, and my, what a lot of learning we have been doing!
Over the first half of autumn, the children have settled into our class and school routines with ease. They are such a social group and all display fantastic communication skills, from speaking in small groups, to singing and creating dialogue in their play. We continue to work hard on our listening skills, understanding that we need to take turns and listen carefully to what others have to say.
The children have now securely learned the first 20 graphemes in our phonics programme, as well as learning 3 tricky words - I, is and the. We are now moving on to the remaining letters of the alphabet and some digraphs to support our increasing blending skills with reading and writing.
As we move into autumn term 2, we will be learning about lots of celebrations, from Bonfire Night to Diwali, Remembrance Day and Christmas! We look forward to sharing photos of our endeavours in our gallery. Watch this space...!
