The Big Bird Watch
On Friday, the children really enjoyed taking part in the RSPB Big Bird Watch.
During the week we spent some time practising our bird watching skills by building a den and finding ways to camouflage it. We learnt about some of the common British birds that we might see and even made our own decorated birds using paper hearts and collage materials. We thought that we might get to see more birds if we made them a treat, so we made these apple-seed bird treats to hang up around the balcony. On the day we spotted lots of birds, including rooks and a couple of kites. We were even serenaded by a very brave robin who sat just above us and sang us a lovely song!
